23-Oct -  Open letter to Chris Matthews

Dear Chris,

I somehow ended up seeing a bit of your show... it's hard to believe. Obama is a highly questionable candidate on many fronts. Your implication that "they" are misrepresenting your candidate is so outrageous. I don't appreciate your cavalier attitude toward voters who see his inexperience and associations as something that should not be easily dismissed. Considering his 140 days in national office before starting his bid for the White House, it is bizarre, to say the least, that this qualifies him for the presidency. No training or experience in national defense, while we are engaged in 2 wars and a continuing terrorist threat? Quite legitimate reasons for concern to me.

The timing of this "financial crisis," which I've come to understand is a well-establish political tactic used to benefit the challenging party, is highly suspect. It is my personal contention is that the DNC, your candidate and the Dem's in Congress conspired to undermine our economy the past 2 yrs to set the stage for their "economic platform" for this Presidential election in order to seize power... The democrats condoned short selling tactics, a contributing factor to the 1929 collapse, by well-known democrat operative Soros. However, the impact was far greater than the Dem.'s expected. Their "October surprise" has turned into this national financial nightmare..... and a world wide international scandal. An outright "abuse of power" in my book.

The fraudulent, systematic undermining of our economy, and quite frankly, the destabilizing of our nations sovereignty, needs to be exposed and prosecuted by an independent investigation. The people of this country deserve answers. It is the only way we can re-establish trust in our government, leaders and financial markets. To me, the greatest responsibility is with the Democratic party who blocked many efforts by President Bush in 2001, Alan Greenspan 2003, Sen. McCain 2005 and others. The cooked books of Fannie, Freddie, blatant misrepresentation of the balance sheets by the likes of Barney Franks (on video mind you) and giving payouts all over the place are readily available evidence. Who has ever heard of a government official getting a $90 million dollar bonus? This is inexplicable! Perhaps this is the way Washington has operated for many years... if so, God help their souls. I'm here to tell you, this isn't the way it will operate in the future because Americans like me are now aware.

I am not a political pundit... I am an average American. I've been busy doing what I've thought was right... Raising my child and trusting all along that those in elected office were doing the job we trusted them to do on our behalf. That is, the "right" thing, not the selfish, outrageous, deceitful acts of cowards who point fingers when they're caught with their hands in the pot. When Pelosi, Speaker of the Do-Nothing-Congress, stands in front of the cameras and spews partisan BS, it pours salt in my open wounds. I get angry, when I know the facts, when I've seen the record and I'm being lied to by a woman who had the power to do "the right thing" for me and my family and chose the party line instead. How dare they?

There are many like me who don't have money to invest with T. Boone Pickens like Pelosi (Cramer, MSNBC interview with CEO of CNLP). We don't overspent, we pay our

mortgages and, even look to retire in the not to distant future. I was outraged that Pelosi and Reid, the Leadership of the Congress of the United States of America , had the audacity to BLOCK VOTING in the US Congress regarding energy. Besides the appearance of conflict of interest being a shareholder in an energy company of Pikens, it was just another example of partisan political posturing... Don't accomplish anything worthwhile until after the election, so the Bush administration doesn't get any credit for anything. Instead, disregard "the people" whom you are supposed to be representing, literally bring us to our knees because of your greed and power brokering. The only solace I had was that, at the time, I had some money in an IRA from years ago. They've now taken care of that too.

The events of the past two months have caused me to educate myself and I am angry as hell. You flippantly use a left wing campaign buzz word "change"; it's an easy reference point on your show Mr. Matthews. But please spare me. I've had just about enough of the "reality of change" thanks to the democrats already. To me, after careful consideration of the facts, that I've personally researched, change means kicking every democrat out of office, the least of which includes Pelosi, Reid, Franks, Dodd, and Shumer. What they've done is CRIMINAL and their deceitful tactics are inexcusable.

The media perpetrates the myth of what the democrats offer America . Think about it... McCain was considered by many Republicans as far left of center, yet he now looks like a real conservative comparatively speaking. Consider what Liebermann says, the party left him. Your suggestions that Obama is a viable candidate is profound to me. I have found very little reporting of facts, rather, opinion-based excuses and an avoidance of any concerted effort to discover truth. When our republic degrades to a socialistic mess, I hope you take credit for the part you played. The ability to give a good speech isn't the most critical criteria to use in picking a President, wisdom is.
